Solar Engineer
This position offers an opportunity to contribute at the corporate level to the operational excellence of our Solar Power Generation project, plans to build a parabolic trough solar thermal power plant (100 to150 MW) in Australia. The successful applicant will have the expertise in the commissioning and a broad knowledge of all areas of Solar Power Generation.
The successful applicant will provide leadership and technical expertise as the subject matter expert to support power plant operations in the area of parabolic trough solar generation equipment and systems.
Position Description:
Solar Thermal Power Generation Specialist - with responsibility for commissioning, maintaining the reliability, availability and performance of solar generating equipment:
* A solar thermal prarbolic trough generation specialist is preferred however expertise in other solar technologies will also be considered.
* Utilizing detailed knowledge will represent power generation operations during the procurement, construction and commissioning of new solar generating equipment and systems.
* Supports equipment maintenance with work identification, including long range predictions and planning, condition assessment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - seven to ten years of Solar Thermal Parabolic Trough Power generation experience, with detailed understanding and relevant knowledge of operation of such solar thermal power plants.
Desired Qualifications - Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree with hands on work experience focused on installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of solar thermal power generating equipment and systems. Recognized and respected as a technical subject matter expert.
Position Requirements: Travel and overtime as necessary. M-F 8am to 5pm with nights and weekend work as required to support operations
