When should I expect to receive the first issue of my subscription?
If your order includes a subscription to the print edition of Home Power, your first issue will arrive in as little as
three weeks or in as long as seven weeks. This variance is due to 1) when your order is received relative to our regular
mailing schedule and 2) how far you live from our central mailing point in Wisconsin. Anxious to get started sooner?
Your print edition subscription includes a HomePower.com membership. Once you receive your login information via email,
visit HomePower.com and begin downloading Home Power issues and articles right away.
How often is Home Power published?
Six times each year for over 20 years.
When will each issue be delivered?
U.S. addresses will usually see Home Power in their mail boxes at some point between the 8th and 20th of the month preceding that issue's cover date (e.g. November for the Dec/Jan issue). Due to magazine production variables, each issue's arrival date WILL VARY from one to the next.
Will you share/rent/trade my contact information?
Not without your permission. Unless you have indicated to us that you would like your contact information made available to like-minded organizations for promotional purposes, Home Power has not and will not rent, share, or sell any of the data you provide to us.
How will my phone number and/or e-mail address be used by Home Power?
The only reason we presently request this information is to provide our customer service staff with a means of reaching you in the event that your postal mailing address turns up undeliverable for some reason or if we encounter any difficulty processing a credit card order.
Do you offer discount pricing for students, non-profit, or educational groups?
Although Home Power does not have a lower tier of pricing reserved for such groups, we do offer 50% off our subscription price to individuals sponsoring a subscription for a public library.
Can I purchase a subscription for my local library?
Yes. Our adopt-a-library program entitles you to a 50% discount when you sponsor a subscription for any public (must be open to the public) library. Please obtain the library's permission in advance then give us a call to set it up.
Do you offer free sample copies to prospective subscribers?
Yes, download a free sample copy of Home Power in PDF by clicking here.
How do I change my subscription mailing address?
To change or append any of your contact information, email subscription [at] homepower [dot] com or phone 800-707-6585 (or 541-512-0201) during our business hours (8AM-4PM Pacific, M-F). When changing your postal mailing address be sure to include your customer number or old ZIP code.
How many renewal notices will I receive?
This is somewhat up to you, the subscriber. Once we receive and process your subscription renewal, no additional reminders will be sent. Because experience tells us that many subscribers appreciate repeated reminders, Home Power will currently send a total of five reminders if we do not hear back from you.
If I give a gift subscription, who gets the renewal?
Presently, all renewal reminders are sent to the recipient of the gift subscription. We hope to change this in the coming year such that initial renewal reminder notices are mailed to the giver of the gift subscription.
How much is a gift renewal?
Our standard renewal rate for all subscription types, including gift subscriptions, is $24.95 (U.S.) or $34.95 (non-U.S.) for one year.
What's the difference between a HomePower.com online membership and a Home Power magazine subscription?
An online membership is entirely Web-based, meaning you need to login to the HomePower.com Web site to take advantage of membership benefits. Our standard magazine subscription entitles you to receive our bimonthly print publication by postal mail.
Do I have to become an online member to make a purchase from the HomePower.com?
No. Just add the items to your shopping cart and follow our easy check out steps to purchase.
As a current print subscriber, how do I get an online membership as well?
Current print subscribers can add an online membership right here for just $9.95. Visit our online membership order page and key in your customer number to verify your magazine subscription.
Can I purchase back issues of Home Power?
Yes. You have several options.
1) Our online membership includes access to the past three years' back issues (18) in PDF format. Browse contents.
2) Many back issues are still available in print. Check availability and purchase.
